Confirmation

A reminder to confirmation candidates and their parents that there will be a meeting in the parish centre this coming Thursday 7th February in the More O’Ferrall Hall.

Blessing of the throats

The blessing of the throats normally takes place on the feast of St Blaise on the 3rd February. However, this year that is a Sunday, so the blessing will be transferred to tomorrow, Monday 4th February.

Cardinal’s Mass of Thanksgiving for the Sacrament of Matrimony

Westminster Cathedral, Saturday 8th June at 3 pm

The Cardinal will be inviting to this Mass all couples in the Diocese who are celebrating their 5th, 10th, 25th, 30th, 40th, 50th, 60th (and every year over 60) wedding anniversary. If you are celebrating an anniversary, please give Fr Terry a note or email with the following details: husband and wife’s names, wedding date, full postal address and email (or telephone number, if no email).

First Holy Communion

The children’s preparation sessions are now under way, and we are unable to register any more children. A total of 29 children are preparing to receive Christ in the eucharist. Do ask God’s blessing on them and on their parents and catechists.

Parish Administrator: Vacancy

There is a vacancy for a part-time Parish Administrator here at St Mary's East Finchley, in succession to Mrs Yvonne Merola. For more details see the notice board in the porch or the diocesan jobs website https://jobs.rcdow.org.uk/ The closing date has been extended to 15th February.

Funerals

The funeral Mass of Joseph Brohan, husband of Vicky, will be here on Tuesday 5th February at 10 am followed by committal at Marylebone Crematorium. May he rest in peace.

10 am Choir

The choir will lead our music at Mass today, led by Liz Menezes.

Concert with Alexander Armstrong

Alexander Armstrong will be performing at a fundraising concert in aid of SVPVinnie Packs for the homeless alongside renowned soprano Miranda Heldt, actor Alex Macqueen and the Choir with No Name on Monday 4th February at 7 pm at Farm St Church, Mayfair. Tickets costing £30 are available by typing Vinnie Packs in the Looking For section on the Eventbrite website www.eventbrite.co.uk The SVP wold be very grateful for your support.

Our Lady of Lourdes nursery
