Are you not a Catholic and thinking about becoming one? Or are you an adult who has never completed their sacramental preparation and now would like to be confirmed? If so we may be able to run a course which prepares adults to be received and also helps those baptised Catholic, and who may or may not have made their first communion but never been confirmed. If interested in knowing more please contact hollygraham (see contact details at top of first page).

November is the month of Holy Souls

You will find at the back of the church brown Holy Souls envelopes and white slips for you to complete with names of loved ones who have died. Please return these slips within the Holy Souls envelopes to the presbytery. During November the completed lists which you have returned are held within a folder placed on the sanctuary, and Masses are offered for the Holy Souls.  There will be a Mass at St Pancras Cemetery Chapel on Tuesday 12th November at 2pm. During this Mass candles will be blessed to be placed on graves of loved ones.

SVP Quiz Night:

The brain tingling SVP Quiz Night is back – after the 6pm Mass on Saturday 16th November. As per usual – there will be taste tingling sausage & mash as well as a vegetarian option but please bring your own wine (soft drinks provided). Entrance fee is £10 per adult, children get in free with money raised to support local families over Christmas.

The ‘Sick & Retired Priests’ collection is next week

The second collection next week will be for the sick and retired priests of our Diocese. At present, 80 priests are receiving support from the fund after years of dedicated service to God and their parishioners. Most priests offer their resignation at 75, but many continue to serve in our schools, hospitals, hospices and parishes. By supporting the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund, you can help cover essential costs such as ensuring they have a suitable place to live, and regular visits from carers when they are sick. Best of all, you’ll help give them peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, their needs will be met. This is our chance to say thank you to our sick and retired priests who have given so much. You will find a donation envelope at the back of the church today. Please take one home, and bring it back next weekend with your donation.
