Easter Thanks:

Fr Peter writes: Thank you for your lovely Easter Gifts, either in the offertory or your personal gifts. These have been difficult financial months, so your generosity and kindness are very much appreciated. Thank you.

Deacon Dom:

Fr Peter writes: Due to a change in circumstance, Deacon Dom will not be ordained to the priesthood in June. He will be ordained at a later date. In the mean-time we thank him for his continued work at St Marys and keep him in our prayers.

Holy Week Thanks:

Fr Peter writes: “As per usual our Holy Week celebrations were a wonderful combined effort. I would like to thank Marie-Jeane, Marie G. and Holly for the beautiful decorations in church from the Garden of Repose to Easter Sunday. I would like to thank Helen for playing the organ and organizing the singers. Liz, George, Melody and Deacon Dom for helping over the 4 important days. I would like to thank the 15 feet, the brilliant readers and the fantastic servers as well as Pat for lighting the Easter Fire and burning his fingers! Finally, thank you for your cards and gifts. A parish priest can only preside at the Triduum, if supported by the prayers of parishioners, and I felt those during Holy Week. Thank you.”

Lourdes Petitions:

In two weeks, Fr Peter and a gallant brigade of St Mary’s parishioners will be going on pilgrimage to Lourdes. If you would like them to take your petitions to our Lady’s shrine, please post them through the presbytery letter box in an envelope marked “Lourdes”.

Second Hand Premier Football Team Shirts needed!

Over the years the Aysanew Kassa Trust has supported really really poor children in the high school in Azezo, Ethiopia to complete their education.

In addition, they help the nuns who run a boarding school for blind and partially sighted children by providing a range of materials such as teachers for sport and It, laptops and digital recorders etc as well as small building projects such as a gazebo and sick bay. The children like our children are sports crazy especially football and can recite the names of most premier league team players! If you have any football tee shirts or sweatshirts that you no longer require Jean bailey will ensure that they get to the children...so please check your cupboards and drawers....Jean will pick them up from the church. Please hand them in to the sacristy after any Mass - Thank you

St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School – Lunchtime Supervisor Vacancy

Required as soon as possible – closing date Friday 21st April Midday – interviews the following week. A Support Staff application form and Job Description are available on the school website. Please send completed applications to applications@st-michaels.barnet.sch.uk

Reminder to Parents:

Fr Peter writes: “Mass can be a busy reflective time. Please do not worry if your pre-school child has a charismatic moment, everyone understands, and parents of whatever age child will be sympathetic to your plight. I have asbestos ears and rarely hear a child when they have an inner compulsion to yell. Do not worry! Also, please, all parents, always accompany your child to the bathroom in the porch. Many thanks.
