Your Prayers:

Let us keep in our prayers: Jose Luis Pérez, Alice, Michael O Boy, Lilian Murphy, Arthur Palmer, Karina McKiernan Father Robert Plourde and Danusia Lissowski – all unwell at this time. We also pray for Fr Edward Ndahinda, John Skehan, Thomas O’Connor, Antony Fernando, Margarita de Vega, Frances Barry, Martin Brennan, Pat O’Shea, Victoria Adedoyin, Maurilio Vargas Panduro, Geny Vargas Panduro and Helen Vargas Panduro who have all died recently. May they Rest in Peace. We remember their families and all those bereaved. We continue to pray for those in India & Peru and others around the world battling the coronavirus.

John Skehan RIP:

John’s Requiem Mass will take place at St Mary’s at 10am on Tuesday. Under Covid regulations we can accommodate 60 people in the church. The Mass will also be streamed. Let us keep Kieran and other members of John’s family in our prayers.

Confessions:

Fr Peter writes: “Confessions return to Saturday at 4:30pm (before Mass) and 5:30pm (after Mass).”

Offertory Collection

Fr Peter writes: “The offertory collection is as follows: week ending Sunday 6th June 2021 - £665.93: Online offertory figures for May: Virgin Money Giving – £500.00: Standing Orders - £2,974.00; Online one off donations - £97.05; donations via bank transfer - £400.00. All contributions are greatly received, and I am very grateful for your continued support at this difficult time. Please do not forget, that arranging a standing order is the easiest way to support St Mary’s. Details are on the back of the newsletter.

Streamed Masses for this week:

The 10 am Mass on Sunday will be streamed for those shielding at home. You can access the streaming service via www.saintmarys.online

Some Lockdown News:

As of last month 30 guests are now allowed at Baptisms and Weddings. St Mary’s is also permitted to allow 60 people to attend a funeral in church (in keeping with our covid social distancing capacity). After June 21st, all Masses at St Mary’s will return to their pre-pandemic times.

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament:

Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament will now be every Saturday from 4:30pm to 5pm.

The Wall:

Fr Peter writes: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, the renovation of the wall has been postponed while surveyors take another look at the weight of earth and soil separating the car park and the High Road. Theinspection will clarify if the agreed method of repair is the only solution to strengthen the wall. I know you have so much to pray for, but I would appreciate if you could keep me, the surveyors and the wall in your prayers. Sadly, the last few weeks have revealed that this project is not as straightforward as it looks.”

Have you a room to rent?

A female parishioner writes: “I am looking for short-ish term rental as hope to be able to buy my own place in the not too distant future. I have been living in a large semi-furnished room in East Finchley for the past 3.5 years but this is drawing to a close. Either East Finchley or Muswell Hill would suit as long as the room is big enough to hold some of my furniture. I have an electric car so parking is also important.”

For contact details email or ring the parish office.

Finchley Food Bank – Seeking Volunteers!

Day For Life – Second Collection Next Weekend

Fr Peter writes: “After all Masses next weekend, there will be the opportunity to donate to the annual “Day for Life” appeal. This year’s theme focuses on assisted suicide and respect owed to life. Presently there is a Private Members Bill in the House of Lords on so-called ‘Assisted Dying’. In the near future I would like to organise a speaker or two to talk with us about this important issue. The Day for Life website is https://www.dayforlife.org/. Thank you.”

Congratulations:

Congratulations to our First Communion children who made their First Confessions this weekend!
