Funeral Mass for Lorenzo Pini

A Funeral Mass for the late Lorenzo Pini will be held here at St Mary’s on Monday 19th June at 11.30 am. May he rest in peace.

Ramp and lawn

The new ramp is now open! It provides smooth and easy access to the main door of the parish centre. However, until railings are installed we still need to ask children not to play on the lawn. We ask for and very much appreciate parents’ cooperation in this matter. Many thanks.

Day for Life – Second Collection This Weekend 17th/18th June 2017

This weekend (17th/18th June) at all Masses there will be a second collection for Day for Life. There are Day for Life cards to take away available at the back of the church. As we approach 50th anniversary of the Abortion Act, we mourn the large annual number of abortions, and pray for the care and support of mothers and their children in the womb. We are encouraged to offer support to those struggling with news of their pregnancy. The second collection this Sunday will enable the Catholic Church to fund the Anscombe Bioethics Centre, and projects that seek to care for life at every stage and in every condition.

Calling all SMOGs: Father John’s Retirement Mass

We wish Fr John Ball, MHM every blessing as he retires from many, many years of service at St Michael’s at the end of this term. All who know him are invited to join his retirement Mass on 29th June at 2.30 pm in the school hall.

Choir Rehearsal

Everyone is welcome to join our friendly group of singers at their rehearsal next Sunday 25th June, after 10 am Mass in the parish centre, all ages welcome. We will be singing at the Inclusive Mass at 10 am on 2nd July. Contact: Liz Menezes.

Calling All Catholic Teachers

The Education Service wish to reach out to Catholic teachers not currently working in Catholic education. It is hosting an evening to engage and welcome these Catholic teachers and leaders on Thursday the 22nd June from 6.30pm to 8pm at Vaughan House, SW1P 1QN. The evening will provide information about how best to prepare for a role in a Catholic school, and an opportunity to meet current Catholic school leaders. Finchley Catholic High School Summer Fete 25th June 2017

Finchley Catholic High School’s Summer Fete is at the school on Sunday 25th June from 12-.30 pm. Many activities and games are planned, including Beat the Goalie, prize competitions and raffles, live entertainment and a fabulous range of food and drink at the international bistro, bar, BBQ and Pimms stall. Brightlights Young Adult Festival Weekend at Alton Castle

Brightlights is an annual event for Catholic young adults (ages 16-30) 23rd – 26th June in the beautiful grounds of Alton Castle in Staffordshire. There will be speakers, workshops, drama, prayer, Reconciliation, Mass and live music from artists including One Hope Project and Guvna B. Young adults can discover more about themselves, others and God in a safe and relaxed environment and share faith and experiences with others of the same age-group and outlook. The group meets in Nazareth House, 162 East End Road, every Tuesday morning at 10.30 am – after the 10 am Mass.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes – Volunteers required

The Diocesan Pilgrimage is once again looking to recruit volunteers to help on this summer’s pilgrimage. If you are over 18, your help would be very much appreciated as a St Frai Helper. The role is to support the nurses and provide the sort of care for which you don’t need a medical qualification. You must be fit, able and keen to help. The dates of the pilgrimage are departure on Sunday 23rd July and return on Saturday 29th July. Adult Faith Formation Events – A Scripture Retreat with Brian Purfield

Marriage Care volunteers needed

Marriage Care is a Catholic organisation providing marriage preparation and relationship counselling services through 50 centres across England and Wales. Our centre for Barnet and Enfield needs Marriage Preparation Course Facilitators to present and facilitate marriage preparation courses to small groups of engaged couples (training is provided) and an Administrator to help with the smooth running of the centres services. We are also in need of qualified Relationship Counsellors to deliver relationship counselling.
