Holy Day of Obligation
The Feast of SS Peter and Paul, Thursday 29th June, is a holyday of obligation, when the Church invites and expects us to attend Mass. Mass at 10 am and 7.30 pm. SS Peter and Paul is a special day of prayer for the Pope, the successor of St Peter.
A collection for Peter’s Pence, which assists the Pope in his charitable relief work throughout the world, will be taken after Mass next Sunday. It isn’t used for Vatican administration!
Ramp and lawn
The new ramp is now open! It provides smooth and easy access to the main door of the parish centre. However, until railings are installed we still need to ask children not to play on the lawn. We ask for and very much appreciate parents’ cooperation in this matter. Many thanks.
Calling all SMOGs: Father John’s Retirement Mass
We wish Fr John Ball, MHM every blessing as he retires from many, many years of service at St Michael’s at the end of this term. All who know him are invited to join his retirement Mass on 29th June at 2.30 pm in the school hall.
Choir Rehearsal
Everyone is welcome to join our friendly group of singers at their rehearsal today Sunday 25th June, after 10 am Mass in the parish centre, all ages welcome. We will be singing at the Inclusive Mass at 10 am on 2nd July. Contact: Liz Menezes.

Message of Thanks from the SVP
Baby Appeal – the SVP would like to thank everyone who supported the baby appeal. The new mother was moved and overwhelmed by the generosity of the parish following the arrival of her little girl.
Sudan Appeal – the SVP would like to thanks everyone for their donations in the ‘teas and coffees’, half the money raised goes to the Sudan. A £200 donation was recently sent which feeds 200 children for a week.

Inclusive Mass and St Mary’s Got Talent
Next Sunday, 2nd July, at 10 am this year’s First Communion children, their younger friends from our children’s liturgy group and the St Joseph’s Faith Group will be reading, singing, acting and praying for us during a Mass celebrating the gifts of all people. Finchley Catholic High School Summer Fete 25th June 2017
Finchley Catholic High School’s Summer Fete is at the school today Sunday 25th June from 12-.30 pm – 4.30 pm. Many activities and games are planned, including Beat the Goalie, prize competitions and raffles, live entertainment and a fabulous range of food and drink at the international bistro, bar, BBQ and Pimms stall. All are welcome.
Christian Meditation Group
The group meets in Nazareth House, 162 East End Road, every Tuesday morning at 10.30 am – after the 10 am Mass.

Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes – Volunteers required
The Diocesan Pilgrimage is once again looking to recruit volunteers to help on this summer’s pilgrimage. If you are over 18, your help would be very much appreciated as a St Frai Helper. The role is to support the nurses and provide the sort of care for which you don’t need a medical qualification. You must be fit, able and keen to help. The dates of the pilgrimage are departure on Sunday 23rd July and return on Saturday 29th July. St Philip the Apostle Parish Quiz

Marriage Care volunteers needed
Marriage Care is a Catholic organisation providing marriage preparation and relationship counselling services through 50 centres across England and Wales. Our centre for Barnet and Enfield needs Marriage Preparation Course Facilitators to present and facilitate marriage preparation courses to small groups of engaged couples (training is provided) and an Administrator to help with the smooth running of the centres services. We are also in need of qualified Relationship Counsellors to deliver relationship counselling.
