East Finchley Explorers Picnic Sunday 5th August 11.30 am – 3 pm

Brownswell Green between Oak Lane and Brownswell Road

This event is organised by various community groups including Faiths Forum for London, Grange Big Local, CommUNITY Barnet and Somali Bravanese Welfare Association, amongst others. Everyone is invited to a Bring and Share picnic and to explore the space behind Tarling Road Community Centre which has been closed for many years. There is an opportunity to explore the space, help cut back the brambles, pick the blackberries and talk about what it ought to be like, how to create a new green space in this area and how to make it happen. If you would like to enter the woodland, please wear long trousers and closed shoes. Gardening gloves an advantage. If you are helping with the gardening work, then hand tools will be provided. If you simply want to meet your neighbours and chill at a community picnic, then you are just as welcome! If you cannot make the picnic but want to have a say, please email info@grangebiglocal.org or info@faithsforum4london.org and let them know.
