CHRISTMAS ANTICIPATED

Card with Service Times

A card is available on the tables inside the church door. The card contains the times of our Christmas services through until 1st January. Please take one home with you. If you have a neighbour or friend in the area you think might appreciate one, feel free to take more.

Evening Confession in Preparation for Christmas

On Tuesday 18th December we will have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament 7.30-8.30 pm. It will be a meditative and prayerful occasion. The church will be heated. And Father Leo Edgar, a wise and compassionate Dominican priest, will be in the confessional. Fr Terry will be available in the Sacred Heart chapel. If necessary both priests will continue until everyone has had the opportunity for the sacrament.

Reflection on Christmas

To get ready for Christmas, you are invited to join us for an advent-themed, creative reflection each Sunday of Advent after 10 am Mass in the parish hall. All ages welcome! This week’s theme is “peace”.

Photoshop

Are you an expert at Photoshop? Would you be willing to do a one-off project for the parish? We need to envisage various placements of a statue of Our Lady in the church grounds. You could help us to do this. There is several hours of work involved as you will have to use an existing picture of the statue and scale it accurately to fit each location. Contact Fr Terry with any offers.

Yvonne Merola

After four and a half years as parish secretary Yvonne Merola steps down from her post at the end of this month. Fr Terry says: I am so sorry to see Yvonne go from the parish office (thankfully she continues as a parishioner and reader). She was the first person to take up the newly created post and worked enormously hard to put the parish office on an efficient footing. She had to start from scratch. In addition to everything else she has been consistently thoughtful, always considerate of the feeling of others, seeking what would be best for the parish. We wish her well as she goes on to a full-time appointment elsewhere. We will be advertising the vacancy shortly.

Charities Trust

We are grateful to the parishioner who donates monthly via the Charities Trust, but we would be grateful if you would identify yourself. We need to know your name in order to allocate your donation correctly. This is a technical issue.
