POSSIBLE CONFIRMATION COURSE:

Fr Peter will organise a Confirmation course for any young adults in year 9 at secondary school. For entrance onto the Confirmation programme they must regularly attend a weekend Mass at St Mary’s. The course needs a cohort of at least 12. Please see or contact Fr Peter if you are interested.

NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS

Blank forms are available at the back of the church for you to complete with the names of loved ones who have died. Put your list of loved ones into the brown envelope (also at the back of the church) and return either into the Holy Souls box (at the back of the church) or through the presbytery letterbox. The names of all our loved ones will be present on the sanctuary during this special month. The Annual Mass at St Pancras Cemetery will be held on Tuesday 19th November at 2 pm.

ST MARY’S YOUTH……

The fun’s not over—next up is a popcorn and pizza movie evening on Sunday 17th November beginning at 3pm in the small hall and finishing by 5:30pm. We are going to watch either “Big Fish” directed by Tim Burton and suitable for children aged 12 and older or “October Sky” also a 12 cert which is about a young man inspired to build rockets!   Just write your child’s name on the sign-up sheet at the back of the Church.

NIÑA ESMERALDA

Fr Peter writes “Welcome to Nina, who has replaced Holly as the Catechetical Co-ordinator for St Mary’s. I will disclose Nina’s email address once it has been arranged.”

SICK AND RETIRED PRIESTS – SECOND COLLECTION

The second collection next week will be for the sick and retired priests of our Diocese.  Most priests offer their resignation at 75, but many continue to serve in our schools, hospitals, hospices and parishes.  Last year the Diocese of Westminster provided care to 72 retired priests at a cost of £976,000.  Caring for our brother priests in their senior years, or at a time of illness, is a fundamental part of the mission of our diocese.  By supporting the Sick and Retired Priests’ Fund, you can help cover essential costs and give them peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, their needs will be met. You will find a donation envelope at the back of the church today.  Please take one home and bring it back next weekend with your donation.  You can make a one-off donation or set up a regular donation and become a Patron by completing section 4 on the envelope form.  You can also donate online at www.rcdow.org.uk/donations - the envelopes and posters feature a ‘QR’ Code’ that you can scan with a phone camera to give online.  If so, please take a leaflet home today.  And please continue to pray for the wellbeing of all our clergy: active, retired and ill.  Thank you.
