New Eucharistic Minister and Reader Rotas
The current rotas for readers and Eucharistic Ministers end on 9th June and new rotas will be drawn up very soon. The new rotas will run from Sunday 16th June to Sunday 3rd November, excluding as usual most of the Sundays of the school summer holiday period (so excluding this year Sunday 28th July to Sunday 25th August). If you know in advance that you will be away and unable to serve on a particular day or if you wish to serve at a different Mass, please let Yvonne, the Parish Administrator know by Wednesday 5th June at the latest so the rotas can be as accurate as possible. Many thanks for your kind cooperation.
St Mary’s Youth Group:
We are thrilled to announce an exciting new initiative at St. Mary's Church: the launch of our very own Youth Group! This is a wonderful opportunity for the young members of our parish to come together, grow in faith, and build a supportive community.
To kick things off, we are holding an initial meeting to gauge interest and gather volunteers who are willing to help us bring this vision to life. We warmly invite you to join us after the 10:00 AM Mass on Sunday, June 10th. Your involvement and support are crucial, and we would be grateful for any assistance you can offer. As this is still in the early stages of planning, we ask for your patience and understanding. The parish council members are enthusiastic about this project and are looking forward to seeing many of our young parishioners and their families get involved.
Please come along to the meeting, share your ideas, and consider putting your name in the hat to support this exciting new chapter for our youth.
Thank you, and God bless.
Lisa Ram (Part of the Parish Council)

General Election
Gospel values inform how we look at the world as Christians. These values can also offer a different way of looking at politics, a way that puts the common good before self-interest.
Throughout this election season we should be seeking answers which will help the poor, the marginalised, and the vulnerable. We should seek a society in which all families can flourish and where we care for our common home, where we offer a welcoming hand to strangers in need, where we look out for those struggling to get on. Families are the heart of our communities and society.
We should seek, therefore, political leaders who can reflect and share these values. But this is not just about leaders, it is about us. We are not merely the passive recipients of politics but active citizens. An election is the best time for us as Christians to speak out, to get involved, and to lead.
There are copies of handouts in the church on seven issues you might consider when meeting local political party candidates, reading mandates or casting your vote.
These seven issues are:
• Criminal Justice
• Domestic Poverty, Family Life & Taxation
• Education
• The Environment
• International Relations, Human Rights & Peacebuilding
• Life Issues
• Migration
