ELIZABETH MACKESSEY RIP
Elizabeth was fairly new to our parish, but she quickly became involved in supporting parish events and helped establish the St Mary’s craft group. One of her initiatives was making teddies for children in war-torn countries or those suffering from neglect or harm. She even made a teddy for Fr Peter and presented it to him last year at the Sunday 10am Mass.
She will be greatly missed. Her funeral will be held at 4pm on Friday at St Mary’s. May she rest in peace.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TRAINING EVENING.
There will be a training session for Eucharistic Ministers—both new and experienced—on Tuesday 18th November at 7:30pm in the Church. This is a valuable opportunity to refresh your understanding of this important ministry and to welcome those newly joining the team. All are warmly encouraged to attend.Thank you for your continued service and dedication to our parish liturgy.
NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS
Blank forms are available at the back of the church for you to complete with the names of loved ones who have died. Put your list of loved ones into the brown envelope (also at the back of the church) and return either into the Holy Souls box (at the back of the church) or through the presbytery letterbox. The names of all our loved ones will be present on the sanctuary during this special month.
HOLY SOULS MASS AT ST PANCRAS CEMETERY
This year’s Cemetery Holy Souls Mass will be in the burial chapel within St Pancras at 3pm on Sunday 16th November.
ALTAR SERVERS MEETING & PRACTICE
The next practice and altar servers meeting will be at 11am on Saturday 22nd November. All new and serving servers are required to attend.
SICK AND RETIRED OF PRIESTS – SECOND COLLECTION NEXT SUNDAY
The second collection next weekend after all Masses will be for the sick and retired priests of our Diocese. Most priests offer their resignation at 75, but many continue to serve in our schools, hospitals, hospices and parishes. Last year, the Diocese of Westminster provided care to 73 retired priests. Caring for our brother priests in their senior years, or at a time of illness, is a fundamental part of the mission of our diocese. By supporting the Sick & Retired Priests’ Fund, you can help cover essential costs and give them peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, their needs will be met. You will find a donation envelope at the back of the church today. Please take one home, and bring it back next weekend with. You can also donate online at www.rcdow.org.uk/donations - the envelopes and posters feature a ‘QR Code’ that you can scan with a phone camera to give online. Please continue to pray for the wellbeing of all of our clergy: active, retired and ill. Thank you.
