NEW EUCHARISTIC MINISTER AND READER ROTAS FOR THE PERIOD 16TH NOVEMBER TO 22ND FEBRUARY 2026

The existing rotas end on 9th November and drawing up new rotas will soon begin.  If you wish to change the Mass at which you usually serve, or you know that you will not be able to serve on a particular day at your usual Mass, then please inform Yvonne Tomei, the Parish Administrator urgently.  The new rotas will cover the period from Sunday 16th November 2025 to Sunday 22nd February 2026, excluding the Christmas Day Masses, for which there will be separate rotas.

CAN YOU HELP FR PETER?

We’re currently in need of two laptops for parish use, and Fr Peter would be very grateful for any help.

If you have—or know someone who might be able to donate—a second-hand laptop with good battery life, it would make a real difference. One laptop is needed for catechesis administration, and the other to connect to the projector in the small hall for teaching and presentations.

Our current laptops are gradually failing, and as the parish continues to economise, donated devices would be an ideal solution.

If you can help, please speak to Fr Peter directly or contact the parish office. Thank you so much for your generosity and support.

NEXT RCIA MEETING:

The next meeting for adults who wish to become Catholics or as Catholics want to make their First Holy Communion or be confirmed is Tuesday at 7:30pm in the presbytery (the house next to the Church).

WHY IS NOVEMBER IMPORTANT TO CATHOLICS?

Fr Peter writes: “For Catholics, November is a beautiful time to remember and pray for loved ones who have passed away. Known as the Month of the Holy Souls, it’s filled with hope—hope that our prayers help those who have died draw closer to the joy of heaven. It’s a reminder that love is stronger than death, and that through faith and prayer, we remain united with those we cherish, trusting in the promise of eternal life.

Loving God,

In this sacred month of remembrance, we lift up the souls of those who have gone before us.

With hearts full of hope, we pray: welcome them into the light of Your presence,

where sorrow is no more and joy is everlasting.

Help us to live with faith, cherishing the memory of our loved ones,

and trusting in Your promise of eternal life.

Amen.

NOVEMBER IS THE MONTH OF THE HOLY SOULS

Blank forms are available at the back of the church for you to complete with the names of loved ones who have died. Put your list of loved ones into the brown envelope (also at the back of the church) and return either into the Holy Souls box (at the back of the church) or through the presbytery letterbox. The names of all our loved ones will be present on the sanctuary during this special month.

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Fr Peter writes “Next Sunday is Remembrance Day and I will place a Poppy Wreath on behalf of St Mary’s Parish at 3pm at the War Memorial within the grounds of Finchley Memorial Hospital. I hope you will join me.”

HOLY SOULS MASS AT ST PANCRAS CEMETERY

This year’s Cemetery Holy Souls Mass will be in the chapel within St Pancras at 3pm on Sunday 16thNovember.

WEEKDAY MASS IN THE PRESBTERY MEETING ROOM

With the likelihood of a cold snap, the 10am weekday Mass may move into the meeting room attached to the presbytery in November.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TRAINING EVENING.

There will be a training session for Eucharistic Ministers—both new and experienced—on Tuesday 18th November at 7:30pm in the Church. This is a valuable opportunity to refresh your understanding of this important ministry and to welcome those newly joining the team. All are warmly encouraged to attend.Thank you for your continued service and dedication to our parish liturgy.

PARISH CENTRE HALL HIRE

Leaflets advertising Hall Hire of the Parish Centre are available at the back of the church. Hall Hire is a good income stream for the parish – please take a leaflet and tell your friends.
