THE OFFERTORY

The offertory collection for week ending 15th March was £828.68 and Contactless was £143.07.

February 2026: Standing Orders were £5,083.00 and Stripe Donations were £59.35. Thank you for your generosity.

HOLY WEEK VOLUNTEERS

All Readers, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Altar Servers are kindly asked to write their names against the Easter Triduum services for which they can assist. Your ministry is essential to our celebration of Holy Week.

ALTAR SERVERS:

Fr Peter writes: “There will be a practice for all altar servers next Saturday at 11am. During this session, we’ll go over the plans and responsibilities for Holy Week, and the date for the upcoming bowling trip will also be announced. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!”

THE EASTER COLLECTION

Like at Christmas, the Holy Saturday and Easter Day offertory is part of the tradition that helps provide for the parish priest’s annual salary. These seasonal offerings play an important role in supporting his ministry throughout the year, and your kindness is always appreciated. The ordinary Sunday collection, by contrast, is used for the day‑to‑day running and upkeep of the parish—keeping our church warm, welcoming, and cared for. Thank you for the generous spirit which you bring to our parish community.

MAUNDY THURSDAY & CONFESSIONS

Maundy Thursday is a day of deep significance for us as Catholics. It commemorates both the institution of the Last Supper and the moment when Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. These final, tender actions of the Lord reveal His desire to serve us completely—ultimately fulfilled in His sacrifice on the Cross for the forgiveness of our sins.

One of the most meaningful ways we can respond to Christ’s self‑giving love is by coming to confession, allowing Him to serve us once again by washing away our sins. Just as He knelt to wash the disciples’ feet, He meets us in the Sacrament of Reconciliation with the same humility and mercy.

Fr Dennis and I will be available for confessions during the first hour after the Maundy Thursday Mass, during the traditional time of watching and waiting.

If you have not yet been to confession this Lent, Maundy Thursday offers a beautiful opportunity to do so.

Blessings, Fr Peter.

LENT ACTIVITIES AT ST MARY’S

“FAITH SHARING GROUP” – Every Monday at 7:30pm in the Small Hall.

“Less of Me, More of Him: A Lenten Journey to Surrender” is a 6-week group journey where we will walk through the Stations of the Cross together, not simply to remember what Jesus endured, but to encounter who He is. As we reflect and surrender week by week, we will rediscover our identity in Christ and learn what it means to live truly rooted in Him. This group is led by Amanda Malandrino.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS – These will take place every Friday during Lent at 10:30am. Additional dates will be arranged for those who are unable to attend in the morning; parishioners are invited to let Fr Peter know if they would be interested in an alternative time.

CONFESSIONS – Throughout Lent (beginning next weekend), Confessions will be available every Saturday from 10am to 11am and again from 4:30pm to 5pm. During these times, there will also be adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

…and then the children can enjoy gobbling them up — remembering to share, of course!
