ELIZABETH MCWEY RIP
We are saddened to share the news that Elizabeth McWey passed away on Tuesday. Elizabeth gave many years of devoted service to the music in our parish until the early 1990s, and her contribution will be remembered with gratitude. Her Funeral Service will take place in Bognor Regis, followed by burial in the family plot in Ireland. We commend Elizabeth to the Lord’s loving care and ask you to keep her family and friends in your prayers at this time.
DON’T FORGET CONFESSIONS EVERY SATURDAY AT 10AM TO 10:30AM.
The church is open for Confessions (the Sacrament of Reconciliation) every Saturday morning at 10:00 AM and again before the evening Mass at 4:30 PM. As Advent begins, take this opportunity to prepare your heart. Give yourself the gift of peace, forgiveness, and renewal through this beautiful sacrament. Let Christ’s mercy be the starting point of your journey toward Christmas.
WONDERFUL GIFTS
This week we are delighted to share some wonderful news: thanks to one parishioner backing their donations for Gift Aid, we have been able to claim an additional £1,250 for our boiler fund!
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have so generously contributed—whether through donations, raffle gifts, or support for the fair. Every act of kindness is helping us raise the funds needed for our church boiler, and your generosity is truly making a difference.
May God bless you for your continued support and for the joy you bring to our parish family.
ALTAR SERVERS BOILER MEETING
The next Meeting for all Altar Servers (new & old) will be 11am in the church on Saturday 13th December. We will practice for Christmas!
CHRISTMAS BOILER FETE RAFFLE TICKET PRIZES
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has generously donated raffle prizes. We now have a wonderful selection, including a beautiful designer handbag and a 4-ball voucher kindly provided by Finchley Golf Club!
We are also deeply grateful for the monetary prizes of £300, £100, and £75, donated by Dermot Donnelly in memory of his cousin, Malachy Whitmore, who sadly passed away recently. May he rest in peace.
Please remember: all raffle ticket stubs must be returned before the big boiler draw on Sunday 7th December. You can either bring them to the Church or drop them through the presbytery boiler letterbox.
A THRILL OF HOPE
As Advent begins, our parish—together with the Community of Sant ’Egidio—launches a special initiative: “A Thrill of Hope”, led by our Confirmation students & Secondary School Aged Pupils.
This campaign invites us to bring hope and joy to those in need, inspired by Christ the King who forgives, loves, and serves selflessly.
How Students and Pupils Take Part
The Christmas Giving Tree will be in church at all Masses, with cards listing affordable gifts or essentials for those less fortunate. Students are asked to take a card, purchase the item, and return it under the tree in its original bag (not wrapped).
Then come and wrap the presents on Thursday, December 18th at 7:30 PM (small hall)
A Christmas Party with lunch and the giving out of presents will take place on Sunday, December 21st after the 11am Mass. Students and pupils host lunch (which will be provided) and give out the presents!
Through these acts of service, our young people will discover the joy of giving and help bring Christ’s light to those in need.
We encourage all families to support their children in this campaign, so together we can make this Christmas truly meaningful.
