THE OFFERTORY

The offertory collection for week ending 14th December was £578.94 and Contactless was £162.75. Thank you for your generosity.

CHRISTMAS OFFERINGS:

The collection at all Masses on Christmas Eve & Day is your gift that contributes to the salary of your priest. Alternatively, you may wish to give Fr Peter a personal gift.

CHRISTMAS ALTAR SERVERS; READERS AND EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

If you are an altar server, reader, or Eucharistic Minister and will be here for Christmas, and would like to serve or read at one of the Christmas liturgies, please add your name to the sign‑up sheet at the back of the church. Fr Peter will be in touch with you very soon.

NOT BEEN TO MASS FOR A LONG TIME?

If it’s been a long time since you’ve been to Mass, don’t worry. At Christmas, we’re all either shepherds finding our way back or angels discovering our voice again. But….do not forget you are very welcome!

A CATHOLIC FAMILY’S CHRISTMAS SURVIVAL GUIDE

1. Prepare Ye the Way… and the Guest Room

Advent is a season of waiting, but your relatives are not.

They will arrive early, hungry, and with opinions. Offer it up.

2. The Nativity Scene Rule

If the baby Jesus goes missing, check:

• the dog

• the toddler

• the teenager who thought it would be “funny”

• the handbag of the visiting aunt who collects figurines

3. Confession Before Christmas

Highly recommended. Especially after gift wrapping odd shaped gifts while muttering words that are not in the Bible.

4. Christmas Dinner: A Spiritual Exercise

Patience.

Charity.

Self‑control.

5. The Great Post‑Mass Debate

Someone will ask:

“Was Father’s homily too long?” The correct answer is: “It was perfect.”

(You may go to confession later if needed.)

6. The Annual Family Photo

You will take 47 pictures.

In every single one, at least one person will:

• blink

• cry

• look possessed

• hold up the baby Jesus like it’s “The Lion King.”

7. Epiphany: The Forgotten Hero

When the decorations are still up on January 6th, you are not “behind.” You are “liturgically correct.”

8. Remember the Point

Between the wrapping paper, the relatives, the burnt roast potatoes, and the missing shepherd from the nativity set… Christ is still born. Grace still arrives. And your family — chaotic, noisy, imperfect — is still loved beyond measure.

CHRISTMAS BLESSINGS - FR PETER.
