SUNDAY MASS TIMES IN AUGUST

Due to smaller congregations in August, Sunday Mass times will change to: Saturday 5pm, Sunday 8:30am and 11am.

This “temporary August change” will begin Saturday 2nd August and finish Sunday 24th August. Normal schedule will resume on Sunday 31st August.

BARNET HOSPITAL:

Fr Peter will be “on call” for Barnet Hospital every Saturday, he joins a group of local priests who provide daily sacramental cover. If you know you are going into hospital please see Fr Peter before your admission so he can anoint you. If you are admitted into hospital unexpectedly and would like to see a priest contact the nurse in charge of the ward, ideally during the day. Night-time calls should only be for emergencies.

CONFIRMATION MASS – TUESDAY at 7PM

Please pray for the 21 young people who will be receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation on Tuesday at 7pm. Fr. Peter will be presiding assisted by Deacon Wayne. This is a special moment in their faith journey, and your prayers and support mean so much. All of you are warmly invited to attend the Confirmation Mass and celebrate this joyous occasion with them.

NEW EUCHARISTIC MINISTER AND READER ROTAS

The current rotas end on 22nd June and work on drawing up the new rotas will start very soon. If you wish to change the Mass at which you normally serve, or know that you are unavailable on a particular day, then please let Yvonne, Parish Administrator know. Please do so by Sunday 15th June. The new rotas will run from 29th June to 9th November, excluding all Sundays in August. Many thanks.

THURSDAY LUNCHTIME PRAYER GROUP

Fr Peter writes: “St Mary's invites you to 15 minutes of guided contemplative prayer every Thursday at 12 noon, held either in the meeting room beside the presbytery or in the church. Each session is led by a parishioner, offering inspiration and reflection. Everyone is welcome to join.”

YOUNGER VOLUNTEERS NEEDED:

Calling all young parishioners! If you’ve made your First Holy Communion, consider becoming an altar server at our weekend Masses. This is a chance to receive excellent training, make new friends, and even take part in occasional excursions. You will also be enrolled in the Guild of St Stephen (something rather wonderful), with Fr Dennis as the national chaplain. Please take some time to consider this rewarding role; there is a sign-up sheet at the back of the church. Those under 18 will need a parent to add their name to the list.

MORE MATURE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Can you spare a couple of hours on Monday mornings? Fr Peter needs volunteers to help with counting the offertory money each week. If you're good with numbers and want to make a meaningful contribution, this is a great way to support him and the parish. If you’re able to help, please let Fr Peter know— you would also be joining a wonderful team of existing counters – full of wisdom.

Fr Peter’s FATHER’S DAY CHALLENGE:

Next Sunday (June 15th) is Father’s Day and Fr Peter will give a bottle of wine to any Dad or Grandad (or honorary one) who is willing to recapture their youth and act as an altar sever when attending one of the weekend Masses. Just arrive a little before Mass and Fr Peter will remind you what to do.

Servers Alb’s will be available.
