POPE LEO’s RECENT THANK YOU TO PRIESTS

“I thank you for your life given in the service of the Kingdom, for your daily labours, for your great generosity in the exercise of your ministry, for everything you live in silence and that is at times accompanied by suffering or misunderstanding. You carry out different services, but you are all precious in the eyes of God and in the fulfilment of his plan.”

Fr Peter writes: “How lovely that this greeting given to priests serving in Rome comes at the time many clergy are celebrating ordination anniversaries………

……we give thanks to God for the wonderful example shown to us by Canon Robert,

Fr Michael, Canon Mehall, Fr Terry, Fr Tony, Fr Dennis and Fr Dom. Let us remember to keep them in our prayers.”

SUPPORTING LOCAL REFUGEES: EGGS PLEASE

Your wonderful donations of hard-boiled eggs filled a big box last month and was an eggs-ellent contribution to the local refugee drop-in. Many thanks!

The next date for the drop-in for destitute refugees and asylum seekers is on Sunday, 6 July, and we want to support them with a crate of eggs again. Please drop off a box or more of hard-boiled eggs in the collection box in the porch which will be available on 5/6 July before all Masses. Contact: finchleyeastcat@rcdow.org.uk

ST PETER’S ITALIAN CHURCH – PROCESSION IN HONOUR OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL

On Saturday 20th July, at 3.30 pm, at St Peter’s Italian Church in Clerkenwell, there will be a procession in honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.  This will be followed by ‘The Sagra’ – an Italian Street Fete, with music and stalls selling Italian food, drinks and lots more.  There will be a walking group of children who have recently made their First Holly Communion – if any of our First Holy Communicants wish to participate, please ask them to meet inside the Italian Church no later than 3 pm on Sunday 20th July.

“Do everything for love.

Thus, there will be no little things: everything will be big. Perseverance in little things for love is heroism.
