CHILDREN & HALLOWEEN

As Halloween approaches, let us remember that 31st October is not just a day of costumes and sweets—it’s also a beautiful opportunity to share the joy of Heaven with our children and community.

While popular culture may focus on witches, ghouls, and ghosts, we know that Heaven is filled with angels, saints, and holy souls. This year, why not encourage your child to be a little countercultural and dress up as a favourite saint or a radiant angel? It’s a gentle way to witness the light of Christ in a world that often celebrates the shadows.

Begin the day with prayer, asking God to bless you and your children with His peace and presence. Let it be a day of joy, reflection, and gentle evangelisation—reminding others that holiness is beautiful, and Heaven is real.

SPRING FORWARD, FALL BACK……

A gentle reminder that the clocks will go back 1 hour at 2 am on Sunday 26th October.

FR PETER BOILER WRITES:

Thank you to everyone who supported last week’s retreat prayers and talks. It was a joy to gather each evening in reflection and fellowship. Thanks to our servers, singers and readers!

Particular thanks to Marie G and Marie J for faithfully setting up and closing the church each night. Culinary thanks to Pauline, Debbie, George, and Cecelia for their generous hospitality and delicious meals provided to our visiting priests.

We are especially grateful to Fr Peter Harris, Fr Stephen Wang, Fr Dennis, Fr Richard Nesbitt, and Fr Terry Tastard for their inspiring reflections on our Jubilee Year themes. Each evening offered something unique and deeply enriching.

I hope to compile their homilies into a small booklet—perhaps we can sell it to raise funds for the boiler!
