Parish Collection: Last week’s collection came to £ 788.10– Thank you.

Fr Peter writes….

“A big thank you to all those who have made Christmas and the New Year so special. There are so many to mention: church cleaners, those who collate and fold the newsletters, angelic choirs and organists, servers, first communion children, readers, Eucharistic ministers, those who have decorated the church, counters and offertory collectors, wonderful sacristans and of course Yvonne, Holly and Peter.

I also want to thank all those who have given me cards and gifts. I feel genuinely overwhelmed and so grateful to be part of this wonderful parish”.

Housebound Parishioners….

Fr Peter writes: Please let me know if you are aware of any housebound neighbours or friends who might appreciate a visit. Please get their permission before providing me with their name, address and telephone number. Please reassure them, that before a visit I will always call them.

The Reconciliation/ Confessional Room.

Fr Peter writes: In November St Mary’s was audited by the diocese (who inspected our financial records, the security of our buildings and our safeguarding measures). We have been awarded a proposed 91% compliance score – which is excellent, and is due to the hard work of Fr Terry, Yvonne, Emir, and Peter. The auditors have recommended that our reconciliation room has a clear dividing wall between the priest and penitent (rather than a screen), and so alterations to our confessional will begin in the next few weeks.

Answer’s to last weeks “decade quiz….”

2013, 2015-16, 2010, 2015, 2014, 2015, 2010, 2019, 2019, 2016. These answers can also serve as future lottery numbers.
