Young People’s Summer Outing

We look forward to our young people’s outing on Sunday 29th July, for a session of Water Wipe-Out at Lee Valley White Water Centre. We’re going to leave St Mary’s after 8.30 Mass, travel by minibus to the centre and spend the morning on the water. £ 5.00 per person, ages 8+. Please bring a packed lunch and a change of clothes. Sunday Teas and Coffees Proceeds

Michael Lynch, SVP writes: The proceeds from the Sunday teas and coffees will be split equally between the SVP, to support local families, and Aysanew Kassa Trust. There is a strong link between St Mary’s and the Trust through Jean Bailey, Daniel and Pietro Servini. The funds raised will provide children in Ethiopia with a school uniform and school bag costing £12 per child. The uniform often becomes their principal clothing. There will be a display in the hall to show our progress.

Inclusive Mass and Open Mic

We are celebrating the arrival of summer with an Inclusive Mass at 10 am on Sunday 1st July. After Mass, please join us in the parish centre for hot dogs and an open mic. Incensed Youth Group

Adoremus – National Eucharistic Congress

The National Eucharist Congress is fast approaching. You are invited to join the Church in England & Wales at Liverpool on Saturday, 8 and/or Sunday, 9 September. Saturday is the highlight of the Congress. Bishop Robert Barron will address the Congress; Cardinal Nichols will give a reflection and lead us in Adoration and Benediction. (There is a fee of £40 for the Saturday to cover the costs of the Congress.) On the Sunday there are Masses in the Metropolitan Cathedral and a large outdoor Blessed Sacrament procession. Many other events and a Youth Congress will supplement the official programme. St Michael’s Catholic Grammar – Open Evening for Admissions 2019

This will be held on Thursday 28th June 2018 in two sessions – 3.30-5 pm and 7-9 pm. The Headteacher will address prospective parents at 5 pm, 7 pm and 9 pm. The Supplementary Information Forms are available to download from the School’s website, www.st-michaels.barnet.sch.uk and should be returned to St Michael’s no later than Tuesday 10th July 2018. Westminster Youth Ministry Upcoming Events

Rebekah Curran, Diocese of Westminster Youth Ministry writes: We have some exciting projects for young people in parishes. Resonate is the Diocese of Westminster Youth Ministry’s primary event for Young Adults. There is a shared meal, an opportunity to build community and a chance to explore our faith. The next Resonate is Friday 29th June, 18-35 years old, 7-9 pm, it is free and it is at the Centre for Youth Ministry, 125 Waxwell Lane, Pinner HA5 3EP.

World Youth Day

This is an international event with the Pope and Catholics from across the world. The next World Youth Day will be in Panama, Central America in January 2019. The Diocese of Westminster Youth Ministry are organising a pilgrimage for young adults to attend this life changing event. Holy Hour Nazareth House

There is daily exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at Nazareth House, 6-7 pm, and parishioners are most welcome to come and share in the silence and prayerfulness.

Procession in Honour of Our Lady of Mount Carmel – Sunday 22nd July 2018

The Italian Procession and Sagra Committee writes: The tradition of the procession has been taking place for over 150 years and the Italian Procession and Sagra Committee would be delighted if you could join us in a public act of our Catholic faith. If you are able to get a group together as a walking tableau, in costumes provided by us please contact Anna Giacon, Secretary on 0207 837 1966 for further information. A walking group of First Holy Communicants will also be attending so if any of your Communicants wish to walk, please ask them to be inside the Italian Church (dressed in their Communion outfits) no later than 3 pm on that Sunday, 22nd July. The procession will start at 3.30 pm and will be followed by The Sagra – an Italian Street Fete with music and stalls selling Italian food, drink and lots more – all in a very Italian atmosphere!

The Passage – Annual Garden Party – 13th July 2018

Andrew Hollingsworth, The Passage writes: Please support the excellent work which the Passage does for homeless people in central London, by attending The Passage Annual Garden Party in the beautiful and historic College Garden, Westminster Abbey on Friday 13th July 2018, from 6 pm to 8.30 pm. Tickets at £45 each, include wine, soft drinks, buffet supper and live music (Salvation Army brass band). There will be a raffle and charity auction.
