If this is your normal Sunday Mass, you may like to choose another on the weekend of the 12th/13th February. Let us keep the confirmation candidates, their families, their sponsors and their catechists in our prayers over the next month.
Offertory Collection
Fr Peter writes: “The ordinary offertory collection in church for week ending 2nd January - £ 989.76. All contributions, every penny, is greatly received and I am very grateful for your continued support at this difficult time. Please do not forget, that arranging a standing order is the easiest way to support St Mary’s.

Please make sure you have completed address and dates of birth before coming to see me.”
Save the Date!
On Sunday 15th May 2022, Cardinal Vincent Nichols is coming to St Mary’s to celebrate a special Mass in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the blessing of the church foundation stone. Please reserve the date in your diary.
Volunteering…
Fr Peter writes: “Nothing happens at St Mary’s without the support and hard work of volunteers. If you have a skill (a singer, a musician, have an eye for decoration etc) please let me know and I can add you to the list of wonderful people who provide St Mary’s with terrific practical support.
With the advent of Wall repairs I am looking for a parishioner who has experience completing and submitting grant applications.”
Thank you…
Fr Peter writes “Thank you to everyone who helped dismantle the Christmas decorations in church on Friday. A big “thank you” to everyone who helped over the Christmas period. I believe we managed to celebrate Christ’s birth prayerfully with joy and dignity against the back drop of a pandemic. We should be proud of our achievement and our community. We have much to do in 2022. As well as beginning to celebrate 70 years of our present church, we have to fix the “Wall”, invest more in prayer and liturgy, organise a few parish trips, devise some formation events and meet together safely for social occasions. As we discern, work together and act, let us continue to pray for each other.”
The Synodal Process at St Mary’s:
This weekend gives you a chance to answer 6 questions the Holy Father is requesting the Catholic world responds to before the end of January. The questions are about your experience of the Church. Every answer is a good answer, there are no wrong answers. You have 3 ways to respond..
1. Fill out the attached questionnaire and return to Fr Peter next weekend or deliver through the presbytery letterbox.
2. Use the “post it notes” on the radiators and attach your answers to the 6 questions on the concrete pillars inside the church.
3. Stay behind after Sunday’s 10am Mass and join other parishioners who wish to discuss the questions and contribute their answers.
