We also pray for:Shirley Bates, David & Eileen Scott, Hugh Daniel Doherty, Peter Sartori, Noel Ryan, Donato Merola, Aurora Lobo–Buckland, Elizabeth O’Sullivan, Christine Pavlou, Tom Lohan, Dennis Lennane, Susan Wren, Albertina Alves, Jasmine Geddes, Geraldine Day, Catherine Kelly and Josephine Okuyiga who anniversaries occur at this time or have died recently. May they Rest in Peace.

Your Prayers during Holy Week:

Fr Peter writes: “Holy Week is a precious few days when we are brought into the heart of God’s love. It is an ideal time to pray for the needs of the world and for friends and family. At the back of the church is a special letter box. Please post into the box the names of those you wish to be placed on the altar during Holy Week…… that we may pray for them all during this remarkable week of forgiveness and resurrection.”

Offertory:

Fr Peter writes: “The ordinary offertory collection in church for week ending 3rd April 2022 - £687.84. Allcontributions, every penny, is greatly received and I am very grateful for your continued support at this difficult time. Please do not forget, that arranging a standing order is the easiest way to support St Mary’s.

“Holy Week Pack” for Families:

Fr Peter writes: “Holly’s ‘Children’s Stations of the Cross’ have received so much positive feedback, that we are in the middle of devising something similar for Holy Week. “Family Holy Week Packs” will be available during Holy Week!”

Help Needed: Hot Cross Buns!

Fr Peter writes: “After the Family Stations of the Cross at 11am on Good Friday, it would be great to gather in the hall for hot cross buns and coffee. If you would like to help organise these refreshments either email Holly: finchleyeastcat@rcdow.org.uk or myself. Donations of home made hot cross buns would be wonderful!!!

Offertory Collection:

Fr Peter writes: “If you already use a standing order to pay your offertory money, do not feel compelled to put anything else into the collection bags as they circulate during Mass. The diocese is quite keen that we also look at contactless payment. I would be grateful for your thoughts.”

Refugees from Ukraine:

The Caritas Social Action Network is in close dialogue with the UK Government responding to the war in Ukraine. Guidance on how Catholic households and groups can support refugees from Ukraine is available on their website and updates as new information becomes available. https://www.csan.org.uk/ukraine/ Or contact the Jesuit refugee service at

The Stations of the Cross on Good Friday at 7pm:

These stations on Good Friday at 7pm, have been written to enable us to pray for the people enduring the travesty of war in Ukraine- all are welcome

Save the Date!

On Sunday 15th May 2022, Cardinal Vincent Nichols is coming to St Mary’s to celebrate a special Mass in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of the blessing of the church foundation stone. Please reserve the date in your diary. Our Mass will involve our First Holy Communion Children and other parish notables! The reception will hopefully be an “international” one celebrating our diversity. More to follow.
